The croissant, breakfast’s protagonist

Croissant

Classic pastries and bread are the most popular food in our homes for the first meal of the day, breakfast.

Cookies, croissants, muffins and ensaimadas are more than present in our mornings, but one of the favourites continue to be croissants.

The origin of this much desired sweet dates from the 17th century in the city of Vienna. It tells the story that when the Turks were trying to access the city underground, the Austrian bakers heard them and raised the alarm, thus, they were able to defend the city. In honour of this nocturnal moment that turned into a victory for the Viennese, this crescent-shaped bun was created.

But what ingredients are needed to make a good croissant? Wheat flour, butter, sugar, salt, water and yeast. Although the experts comment as the great secret is in the fermentation and preparation times.

At Llopartec we are committed to this traditional bun, offering you different mixes to make it. In addition, we are specialists in all kinds of mixes for fresh and frozen pastries, in order to provide the best results to our clients.
