Christmas is coming and one of the favorite traditional confections of these dates is the roscón de Reyes. Of cream, chocolate, dulce de leche, however surprisingly the most classic and representative of the gastronomic culture of our country, they have no filling.

It is estimated that around 30 million of roscones are consumed per year throughout the national territory, according to Asemac (Spanish Association of the Bakery, Pastry and Confectionery Industry), a figure that has been increased in recent years thanks to an extension of the consumption period. 

To make the roscón dough, the ingredients used are flour, yeast and orange blossom water. The other components that complement the confection are sugar, egg, milk, water, salt, lemon and orange zest, black rum and butter in the vast majority of traditional preparations.
