rom Llopartec they want you to get to know them even better, and make their company closer, which is why we are pleased to introduce you to Montse, Salvador and Marta Batet, the three siblings who lead a family business project, created more than two decades ago.

Spanish pioneers in the manufacture of products for the Bakery, Pastry and Frozen Dough sectors. They have an excellent vision of the future, ongoing innovation, extraordinary agility and customisation towards the needs of their clients, and with a formidable national and international projection.

Then, we detail the interview with the Llopartec team:

How did the Llopartec project start?

Our company Llopartec was created twenty-two years ago, in July 2001. The founder was our father, Salvador Batet Llopart, with an experience of more than fifty years and being a leader in the Pastry, Bakery and Frozen Dough sector, he put all his care and effort to set up the food company.

A person dedicated to the company, to its workers, customers and suppliers, with true vocation, enthusiasm and a tireless worker. In addition, he knew how to pass on his energy, knowledge and creativity to our whole team.

Currently, the business project is run by his children, Montse, Salvador and Marta Batet, each one focused on a strategic department of the company.

Could you explain, what has been the most difficult challenge that you have had to deal with?

The most complicated challenge for the whole team, without a doubt, was the sudden death of our father and founder of Llopartec due to Covid, in April 2020. That was a very difficult situation, as it was a very painful loss, both at personal and professional levels, losing the leader and the main reference of the company.

In addition to that unexpected situation, a lockdown context was added, a decrease in consumption of many of our clients, among other setbacks, and moving forward during that scenario, we can say that it meant one of the biggest challenges hitherto. A purpose that we assume with a lot of effort and sacrifice to go ahead, with the dream that we started together with our father. A very difficult context, but if we make an assessment since then, since we took the leadship, we are very satisfied with the evolution that the company has had.

What general objectives, that can be detailed, do you have for 2023-2024?

For next year, one of the main objectives is to extend both our range of Microencapsulated products and the range of Preparations for our Bakery, Pastry and Frozen Dough sectors. We are committed to following consumer trends, adapting current ingredients to new technologies. All this within a more efficient and sustainable framework.

On the other hand, even though we currently export 25% of our turnover to different countries around the world, we will continue to promote internationalization and to achieve this, one of the ways will be this year, and for the first time in the history of Llopartec, to participate with an own stand at the IBA2023 Fair, which is held in Munich next autumn.

Do you have growth projections in the field of HR, to achieve certain corporate objectives?

We intend to grow in the short term in several areas. One of the departments that will lead this projection is R+D+i, which has always been vital for us. In fact, we are already evaluating the creation of a new Pilot Plant that can more effectively meet the current needs of our clients, and allow us to face the projects in a more effective and successful way.

We want to help our clients to optimize the time of launching new products to the market, and we are fully aware of the need to work with the latest technology and equipment.

On the other hand, we also want to enhance the Sales Department to reach more markets.

In the middle term, the objective is to expand our production lines at Avinyonet del Penedès, as well as build new warehouses.

What do you think may be the food market trends in the coming years?

The whole management team of Llopartec believes that the market trends in our sector will be linked to healthier products, the minimization of the use of chemical additives, and a substantial change from products of animal origin to products of plant origin. In addition, these will have to be formulated and manufactured in a more sustainable way, since as a company we must be aware that we have to protect the planet and adapt to minimize the impact due to climate change.

How do you imagine food industry ten years from now?

We visualize a nutrition where the consumer will have much more knowledge of the food they eat, and therefore, will be more demanding when selecting the products they will consume, focusing, as we have previously mentioned, on following a more conscious and healthy diet.

Thank you very much for your sincere answers. Would you like to add anything else?

We would like to express our immense gratitude for the trust placed in our company, by all our collaborators, whether they are employees, suppliers or clients. It is a real pleasure to have all of you with us.
