Christmas trunk

Tronco Navideño

Christmas is coming and with it, the most typical cakes of these dates. One of the most chosen is the Christmas trunk or Bûche de Nöel, originally from French pastry and with thousands of followers across Europe.

The dessert resulted from the ancient Celtic tradition in which the arrival of the winter solstice was celebrated where a tree trunk was chosen, decorated, and burned on December 21st, the shortest day of the year.

It was not until the beginning of the 19th century when the pastry chef Pierre Lacam wanted to remember the Christmas trunk in a representative way, making a dessert with a rectangular sponge base, rolled in shape and filled with cream, chocolate or nougat mousse.

For the preparation of the Christmas cake you need flour, yeast, butter, eggs, sugar and vanilla extract. For the glaze, chocolate, butter, and orange zest.

In order to make the fillings we have a complete variety of custards, cold-processed, ready to inject after cooking.
